Brightline Media Group was formed in January of 2011 after Ramp Publishing Group shut down in December of 2010. Ramp Media Group published magazines for the trucking industry for thirty-two years before closing its doors. In late 2009 Ramp also launched a magazine titled Driver Health focusing on editorial to improve the health and wellness of the driver population.
Merck K. Smith, COO and corporate counsel for Ramp, obtained intellectual property rights of Ramp. With the vast amount of resources accumulated over 30 years of publishing, Mr. Smith was able to immediately launch Brightline Media Group with plans to continue publication of the health and wellness publication under the new title Highway Health. In addition to the intellectual property rights acquired, Mr. Smith was also able bring on the key employees and independent contractors of Ramp in order to continue the flow of a 30 plus year company.
Highway Health is the only industry magazine focusing solely on the health and wellness issues effecting today’s CDL driver population.
